What we'll talk about
Join the IHL volunteers as they showcase their book clubs that happen at the IHL on a regular basis. We will have 2 readings happenings at the same time, so upon arrival you can choose whether you want to take part in the mini Sci-Fi book club or the Written by Women club.
Our volunteers will read an excerpt or short story of their choice and then the group can discuss their thoughts!
Sci-Fi reading: a ten-page excerpt from Calypso (2024) by Oliver K. Langmead (copies of the excerpt will be available at the workshop for those that want to read along)
After the readings you can chat with the volunteers and even suggest other books for the group to read!

Viviana, Vanessa, Thomas and Francesco
Viviana has been living in Leuven for 12 years. She loves reading and loves to share this passion with other people. She is one of the volunteers and founder of the regular IHL book club Written by Women, where they read books written by women authors. Venessa is a recent addition to the Written by Women team. She is originally from Puerto Rico and has been living near Leuven for the last 3 years. She is very curious and loves reading (especially books that surprise her) and seeing other's perspectives through stories
Thomas and Francesco are the volunteers for Sci-Fi Leuven, the IHL book club that focuses on science fiction books and movies. Thomas (the founder of the club) takes on most of the book related meetings and Francesco the movies!
There are no reservations, it's a first come first served event, so be there on time to avoid disappointment!
